{January 13, 2012}   Smile and nod

I can’t believe that it is 2012!

Once again I went a whole year without blogging. I promise that I will try to do better.

2011 was another tough year.

Our sweet little George passed away

I still haven’t got used to her being gone. Every now and then Poe and Edgar walk around the house looking for her. I think that Poe misses her the most. The two of them were so much alike.

Work has been interesting. I am back doing what I was before I moved to Communications. I never thought that I would be happy to see those four walls again. It makes me happy to *hide* in my office, turn up my music and get my work done. It’s also nice that Ted and I can carpool most days, so we are saving money on gas.

I haven’t been knitting or crocheting as much as I would like, but I’m hoping that will change soon. I just need to spend less time on the computer.  :)

Speaking of spending less time on the computer, I think that it is time for bed.

{January 2, 2011}   Ups and downs… a lot of downs

This year was a tough one. In January we lost our sweet Yeats to congestive heart failure.

Needless to say the first few months of 2010 were a bit rough.  After losing Yeats we, of course, became a little obsessive about George.  In our obsession we found that she has a bone deformity and asthma, but she is ok.  To make sure that George didn’t get depessed and lonely we welcomed two new babies to our family.

Edgar and Poe fit into our family well. It took George a little time to get used to them, but she loves them.

Back in June my company did some downsizing and I moved to different department. I was sad to have to change jobs, but I think that it has worked out well for me. I really enjoy my job and I am looking forward to bigger and better things.

Faire went really well for us this year. We had the pleasure of seeing two of the most wonderful people joined in marriage. We had a great time celebrating with everyone.

In November I went to California for my sisters wedding. Made some new friends and had a really good time with my family.

The rest of the year was not so good. We lost our friends Tammie and Lori. Words can’t really express my feelings. I will miss them both.

Here’s hoping 2011 will be better.

Happy New Year!

{January 12, 2010}   I’m a bad bad blogger!

I know that in my last post I said I was going to do better, but I’m afraid that life has been kicking my butt. If you work in retail you’ll understand. The holidays were pretty much non stop for me.

Faire ended well. Invasion was a success with a little drama added in. I don’t think you can have an invasion without some sort of drama. It just wouldn’t be Invasion.

My Grandma Jenny passed away on thanksgiving. It was tough for the family, but I think that she was ready to go. I spent most of the week in SC with my Mom. After I got back the holidays were in full swing and I didn’t really have time for much.

I worked on all of my Christmas gifts all the way up to Christmas day, and am still working on them. I was able to get all of the kids gifts finished (those were the most important). Right now I am working on my Mom’s wrap then I will do the rest of the socks I need to do. I only have 8 pairs to do. I should have them done by March.

My sister, Pennie has totally become my knitting enabler. She’s the one that got me addicted to knitting socks and now she got me a subscription to ‘Creative Knitting’ magazine and I seriously want to knit everything in each issue I’ve received so far. Well, at least I won’t ever run out of projects. lol

Well, I guess that I should go and try to do some house work.

Later Taters

OK, so I have no real reason for the title of this blog. I’ve just always wanted to say that.

I know that it has been a really long time since I have blogged *hangs head in shame* I promise that I will do better! I wish that I could say that life has just been so fabulously busy that I just haven’t had time, but that would be a lie and I would never lie to you dear readers. That would just be wrong.

So, what have been doing since the last time I posted.

Let’s see. I took a trip to Vegas with Leslie and Carrie. It was for Carries Bachelorette weekend. We had a great time. I will post some pics later. Remember people: “what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas… until I put it on Facebook.” LOL It was my first time in Vegas and it was really fun. Ted and I are talking about going for our 10th wedding anniversary.

Invasion dinner last year was much better. There were no evil camera crews and everyone had a great time! I am looking forward to it this year, especially since I have the whole weekend off. Woo Hoo!!!

As far asKnitting goes I have been very busy. Last year I made everyone scarves for Christmas. This year I am doing a lot of different things. For all of the adults, except Mom I am making socks. I am totally addicted to making socks. It is all Pennies fault. She asked me to make her a pair and now I can’t stop. For my niece Gracie, I am making a princess dress up set. It has a pretty pink cloak with with (fun) fur trim, a crochet crownwith crystals iin it, and some bracelets and necklaces. I just have a few finishing touches for it left. For my nieces, Gabi and Megan I am making felted book bags. I am almost finished with Megs, but I still need to buy the yarn for Gabi’s. For my nephews, Roman and Russell I am making mowhawk hats and cthulhu’s. I have finished the cthulhu’s but still need to make the hats. For my nephews, Carson and Cobi, I am making backpacks. I haven’t started on them yet.  For mom I am making a lace wrap with little crystals scattered through it. I pronise that I will post pics later.

Nothing else really going on right now. We are in the middle of Faire. It has been alright, but nothing spectacular. Hopefully it will get better.

Well, I should go do some house work. I am making halloween treats to take to work tomorrow since I am off for the rest of the weekend.

{April 22, 2008}   Mad Kestral

Mad Kestral, originally uploaded by lilirose2101.

This is from last month, but I didn’t get to post about it.

Ted and I have a friend who is an author and her book came out last month. If you like fantasy or Pirates this is the book for you. It is called MAD KESTRAL and it is written by Misty Massey. I highly reccommend it!

We went to her book signing at Joseph Beth and had a great time. If you were dressed like a pirate you got a special prize. After the book signing we all went to a local Pub and enjoyed good food, good drinks, and even better company.

{March 5, 2008}   Flower Hat

Flower Hat, originally uploaded by lilirose2101.

This is the hat that I made from the lovely yarn that Corey gave me. I’m using the rest of the yarn to make a cool bag. I’ll post pics when I am finished.

{March 5, 2008}   Flapper

This pattern is from one of my favorite books (naughty needles) and has been a lot of fun. I got a little bored working on the back, but I finished it. All I have left to do is block and piece it together. I can’t wait to see it finished!

{March 5, 2008}   Dollar Store Scarf

Dollar Store Scarf, originally uploaded by lilirose2101.

I found this yarn at the Dollar store and it was really fun to work with . Each color knit up slightly different and really made the scarf look pretty cool. Even though it is a cheap yarn this is one of my favorite projects!

Eventually this will be an owl. All I have left to do is the head. It really shouldn’t take very long. Now if I could only get in the mood to work on it I would be doing great.
